The Environmental Conference will serve as a culmination of the Turks and Caicos Government’s efforts to commemorate the Year of the Environment, declared at the beginning of 2007 with two key objectives: to raise the level of environmental consciousness throughout the Turks and Caicos Islands and to develop public and private partnership arrangements in managing the environment.
Former U.S. Vice President Al Gore will be the keynote speaker of the first ever Environmental Conference.

In Search of ROBINSON CRUSOE (in the Caribbean)
Tim Severin, a world renowned explorer, will give a talk on his latest book where he chases around Robinson Crusoe legends in the Caribbean Basin.
Tim will be hosted by the Maritime Heritage Federation as the first in a series of lecturers on maritime subjects and cultural conservation. This lecture will benefit the Federation’s Chalk Sound Sailing Centre Project. There will be a special presentation for all school students at 1PM at the Gustavus Lightbourne Sports Centre on 14 March.

18th Annual Kite Flying Competition
The Annual competition and beach party organized by the Turks & Caicos Tourist Board, held every Easter Monday on the beach at the Children's Park in the Bight on Providenciales and Horse Stable Beach on North Caicos.
Activities includes Easter Egg Hunt, face painting in addition to island music, and lots to eat and drink. Prizes and trophies for the Largest Kite; Smallest Kite; Most Artistic Kite; and Best Overall Kite.
